Trip Overview

This is a short & easy tour suitable for the travelers who are interested to explore culture and pristine nature of the dragon kingdom of Bhutan. The tour begins with a visit to a few famous Dzongs (fortresses),some farm houses, traditional villages, stunning woodlands, serene monasteries and bustling markets. In Thimphu, the capital city of the tiny kingdom of Bhutan, you will visit Dzongs, administrative centers, the museums, arts school, libraries and textile emporiums which give you an insight to the Bhutanese culture and tradition. Then, you will drive to the warm and fertile valleys of Punakha and Bumthang in central Bhutan. You will visit some farm houses and interact with the local and experience the rural life.

Itinerary

Day 01: Fly to Paro

Upon arrival at the Paro airport, meet our official tour operation representative and drive to Thimphu (65km-2 hrs) capital city of Bhutan, transfer to hotel, be refresh, brief about tour program and overnight at hotel.

 

Day 02: Thimpu sightseeing

After breakfast meet the tour guide at hotel and join full day guided sightseeing tour. In the morning first visit the Memorial Chorten of the Late King Jigme Dorjee Wangchuk in the heart of Thimphu town and Tashichho dzong, 'the fortress of the auspicious religion. Afternoon lunch break and sightseeing visit downtown and the Handicraft Development Corporation which displays all kinds of traditional handicraft products of Bhutan and overnight at hotel.

 

Day 03: Drive Thimpu to Punakha (77km-3hrs)

After breakfast drive over the spectacular Dochula pass (3100m) to the warm and fertile valley of Punakha, lunch on the way. Visit the historic Punakha Dzong which  was the old capital of Bhutan before. The magnificent Dozing is sprawled between the Phochu and Mochu rivers and overnight at hotel.

 

Day 04: Drive Punakha to Bumthang (210km-8hr)  

After breakfast drive to Mebartsho, the burning lake and explore around. This gorge is the holy pilgrimage site where Guru Rimpoche had hidden religious treasures, later discovered by Terton Pema Lingpa. Visit the Swiss farm where you can buy excellent local made cheese and overnight at hotel.

 

Day 05: Bumthang sightseeing

After breakfast visit the Jakar Dzong (castle of white bird) which was built in 1549 AD, this Dzong house is the administrative center of Bumthang. After lunch visit the Kurjey Lhakang, the most sacred and popular monastery in Bumthang and overnight at hotel

 

Day 06: Drive Bumthang to Thimpu (267km 8 hrs)

After breakfast early morning drive to Thimphu via Tongsa and Wangdiphodrang, explore these sacred sites and overnight at hotel.

 

Day 07: Drive Thimpu to Paro (65km-2hrs)

After breakfast visit Drukgyel Dzong -Kyichu Lhakang the national museum of Bhutan. After visiting there have lunch and excursion trip to Taktsang Lhakang which allows you to explore various wonders of last Shangri La and overnight in hotel.

 

Day 08: Final departure

After breakfast get ready your packed luggage and drive to airport to catch the flight for departure from Paro airport.

• Meals in other restaurants or hotels other than designated by the tour program
• Costs due to extra vehicle hires (when groups wish to split-up and follow the initial set programs)
• Anything which is not mentioned in inclusions

Chitwan National Park Tour

It provides excellent opportunities to view the rare species such as sloth bear, bison, rhinoceros, leopard and the exclusive tiger. Early morning jungle walks and safaris on elephant back are amongst the most popular activities. The jungle lodge can be reached from Kathmandu either by air or by private vehicle.

Mount Everest Scenic Flight

An hour flight departs Kathmandu early morning and provides spectacular views of Mount Everest and the surrounding mountains.

Bunjee Jumping

Nepal has become one of the best sites in the world for bungee jumping. The country’s first bungee jumping site is situated 160m over the roaring Bhote Koshi river, located close to the Nepal Tibet border (Kodari) just three hour’s drive from Kathmandu.
