Overview

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is newly promoted wildlife reserve situated on the flood plains of the Sapta-Koshi River in Eastern Nepal. It is the largest wetland area (Ramsar site), draining seven major rivers from the great Himalayan zone into the Saptakoshi (7 rivers). The habitat is a combination of scrub grassland and deciduous riverine forest with more than 280 bird species including 20 duck species, 2 species of ibises, many storks, egrets and herons. The endangered swamp partridge and Bengal florican are found here. The Koshi Barrage is an extremely important resting-place for migratory birds. The last surviving population of wild buffalo or arna is also found here. During the Koshi Tappu Safari at dusk and dawn, you will see many varieties of birds and animals sitting along the Saptakoshi river

How to get there

Koshi Tappu is well connected from Kathmandu by bus. Or, we can fly from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and from Biratnagar to Koshi Tappu by road.

NEPAL EXTENSIONS

An hour flight departs Kathmandu early morning and provides spectacular views of Mount Everest and the surrounding mountains.

Culture/Heritage Tour
Nepal boasts a rich cultural diversity and it is well worth exploring. The Himalayan country of Nepal is a dream-world for many and reality for some. Once experienced they can never be forgotten, never dismissed from memory whether ones experience of them is visiting age-old Hindu temples, Buddhist monasteries and royal palaces with amazing sculptures, paintings, legends and living rituals. Nepal is not only regarded as "Shangri-la" for adventurers but a scenic revelation and an educational in itself to all visitors. Once seen they become a part of you, habit-forming and intrusive. We have put our best effort to incorporate all cultural delights as well as natural beauty that Nepal has to offer, which you can chose depending on your time availability.

Bunjee Jumping

Nepal has become one of the best sites in the world for bungee jumping. The country’s first bungee jumping site is situated 160m over the roaring Bhote Koshi river, located close to the Nepal Tibet border (Kodari) just three hour’s drive from Kathmandu.

Water Rafting

Nepal is also popular as one of the best destinations for white water rafting in the world. Cruising down rushing river of crashing waves and swirling rapids can make up excitement of a lifetime. Nepal’s thundering waters, coming from the glaciers of the mighty Himalaya provide unmatched thrills for rafting & immersing oneself in the beautiful landscape.

Darjeeling/ Sikkim Tour

You can extend your holiday trip to Darjeeling and Sikkim after Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve. Both the places are noted for vibrant green hills steeped in breathtaking beauty crowned by the majestic Himalayas, amidst undulating tea gardens. You will enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Kanchenjunga and the other Himalayan peaks during the journey.

Paragliding

Paragliding is relatively new adventure sport in Nepal, and can be truly wonderful and fulfilling experience for adventure seekers. We experience unparalleled scenic grandeur sharing airspace with Himalayan griffin vultures, eagles, and kites, while floating over villages, monasteries, temples, lakes and jungles, with a fantastic view of majestic Himalayas. For the last three years this activity has been in operation in Pokhara, and it now is an internationally recognized destination for free flight enthusiasts
